Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department aims to ensure uninterrupted supply of essential commodities to the general public at subsidized rate.
Mission:
The FCS&CA performs activities relating to regulation, supply and distribution of essential commodities under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 along with enforcement of the Act, statutory rules, orders etc. issued by the Central and the State Government from time to time. The core respnsobility of the FCCS&CA is to provide thevulnerable section of the population adequate quantities of quality foodgrains through Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) under the National Food Security Act, 2013, and to the general public at subsidized rate through other mandates of the Central and State Government respectively.
